Ian Harwick is a Colorado-based strategist with over two decades of experience at the intersection of municipal government, community development, and private sector innovation. Currently serving with the City of Denver’s Office of Climate Action, Sustainability and Resiliency, Ian focuses on mobility policy, where he champions high-tech, sustainable solutions to modernize urban infrastructure.

Elected to the Regional Transportation District Board of Directors in 2022, Ian leverages his deep understanding of complex systems to advocate for smarter, more efficient transit networks. His background includes significant involvement within the New Leaders Council, Transit Alliance, and YIMBY Denver, where he has spent fifteen years building coalitions to support advanced cycling and pedestrian frameworks.

Ian’s career is defined by a commitment to public service through the lens of innovative growth. By blending his private sector experience with public policy expertise, he bridges the gap between community needs and technological feasibility. Outside of his professional life in Arvada, he balances his transportation focus with home improvement, volleyball, and an enduring interest in the future-building found in science fiction.
